Dandruff is a common scalp condition that occurs when your hair is affected by several reasons. It could be hard water, wrong shampoo, and wrong hair routine. Anything could affect your hair quality. However, we all know it’s common for everyone. Many people think using anti-dandruff can permanently solve the condition. But, it wouldn’t work that way. You still need few tips and follow them to sort out dandruff. We always feel itchy and desire to scratch for satisfaction. Sometimes, you may feel like washing your hair with cool water.  I’m gonna explain all about it and steps to get rid of it naturally and as permanently too.

  

What is Dandruff?

In simple words, It is a normal condition of the scalp that causes flakes of skin to appear. It leads the scalp to become itchy by flakes of dead skin.

Causes of Dandruff :

  • Using Hair Products excessively
  • Not having hair bath for days
  • Excess oil on the scalp
  • Malassezia is a fungus that develops dandruff on the scalp
  •  Not keeping your hair clean

1.Healthy diet

You have to take a healthy diet for treating dandruff condition.A healthy diet keeps healthy hair and scalp. You always be healthy if you are a person who intakes well diet. Everything on the skin or hair really depends on what you’re eating. Zinc and biotin are very important for healthy hair. Curry leaves have biotin. You can have curry leafy vegetables in your diet to sort out this problem.

  • Garlic and Onions
  • Lime fluids
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Green Vegetables

2. Avoid Excess hair products

Excessively using hair products produces dandruff on the scalp. You must avoid using hair products for a certain limit if you want to get rid of dandruff. Harsh Chemicals in hair products irritate the scalp which leads to the death of cells. These cells mixed with oil and other chemicals results in flaking.

 

3. Take care of Hair

You have to be cautious with your hair. You must wash your hair for 2-3 times a week. I’ve seen many people keeping oil for 1-2 days. It’s bad that leads to oil buildup on the scalp and results in dandruff. There are tons of shampoos that help in controlling dandruff. Wash with it and keep your hair clean.

 

  

4.Stress management

Stress is not a straight cause of dandruff. It is caused by a microbe, Malassezia globoseon your scalp. Stress weakens the hair body’s natural defense and  Mental stress causes difficulty in dandruff treatment. It makes worse.

 

Home Remedies : 

 

1.Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar is a hard acid and it can help balance the pH and protect against the dandruff-causing microbe Malassezia globosa.Vinegar is believed to help stimulate the shedding of dead skin cells on the scalp. Apple cider vinegar help remove dead skin cells and balance the pH of the scalp. It has been said that vinegar decreases itching and flaking.

How to use :

  • Mix a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with water
  • Apply on hair and gently massage the apple cider vinegar into your scalp for few mins.
  • Leave for about 10 minutes
  • Wash your hair with a mild shampoo and conditioner

 

2.Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is scientifically known as melaleuca oil extracted from the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia . It is an essential oil that has antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial properties that can control dandruff. Tea tree oil could improve the condition of dandruff.

How to use :

One Technique

  • Mix 6-7 drops of Tea Tree oil in a carrier oil like coconut oil.
  • Apply on scalp and massage for 10-15 minutes.
  • Leave it for a minimum of 30 minutes or Overnight ( if you can ).
  • Wash your hair with shampoo.

Two Technique

  • Add a few drops of tea tree oil in the amount of shampoo you took.
  • Apply and Massage into your scalp gently
  • Rinse your hair with shampoo.

 

3.Coconut Oil

Coconut Oil moisturizes dry scalp and blocks itchiness effectively. As it nourishes your hair and boosts hair growth too. Coconut oil may also reduce inflammation and pain which helps in controlling dandruff.

How to use :

  • Apply coconut oil directly to the scalp
  • Massage it gently.
  • Leave it on for 20-30 minutes
  • Rinse it off thoroughly

 

4.Lemon juice

Lemon Juice is rich in antioxidants, essential vitamins, and citric acid (vitamin C). It balances the pH of the scalp that could help in dandruff control and eliminate excess oils in the scalp that lead to buildup and scalp flakes. Lemon juice has so many benefits for the hair. Lemon plays a key role in healthy hair. As it will help to reduce excess oil from scalps and cure dandruff.

How to use :

  • Apply the lemon juice to the scalp
  • Leave it for a few minutes
  • Rinse it with warm water
  • Wash your hair and scalp with a mild shampoo.

 

5.Aloe Vera

Aloe vera contains vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and bioactive components. It is said to be the most effective treatment for seborrheic dermatitis that causes dandruff. It is anti-inflammatory and has antioxidant properties that can prevent cell damage.

How to use :

  • Apply aloe vera gel on the scalp.
  • Leave it for a 30 minutes
  • Wash your hair and scalp with a mild shampoo.
