The descent, being an incredible horror film, has its own cult-fan base, despite not being received well by the masses. Later, it was deemed as “underrated” and people have begun to appreciate the film more over time, for its effects, concept, and its gory direction. But sadly, most of the modern horror flicks are devoid of the elements that make “a horror film” a great horror film such as The Descent. People want to watch movies like The Descent again, but what are they? well, here I have scouted a list of 10 movies that perfectly match the personality of The Descent.
Movies Like The Descent:
Based on Hindu mythology, the story tells of a demon who is deprived of food while loaded with gold. In order to revive the demon, one family built a temple inside an isolated mansion but was exiled because of the temple. Only an old man remained alone with the demon idol. Every day, the mistress of the old man visits the mansion. Family members live just a few feet away from the mansion where the mistress and two kids live, as well as the great great grandmother of the old man, who is cursed to live forever since the demon bit him. In order to avoid cannibalism, the old witch needs to be fed regularly while asleep.
It’s one of those “perfect” movies like The Descent, except Tumbbad nails its subject and nuances.

However, this deception turns out to be the least of their worries, as they are methodically hunted by something that isn’t human.

Honorable Mention: The Descent 2
The sequel to The Descent. Although it did not score well with critics and audiences, if you want to watch just for the sake of having fun, give it a try.
