Jeremy Renner Shares Instagram Post After Snow Plowing Accident

In his first Instagram post after his snow plowing accident, Jeremy Renner expressed gratitude for the kind words he received from people.

Two-time Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner has finally spoken out after being “run over” by his own snow plough accident, which started rolling suddenly and weighed 6,500 kilogrammes.

Renner, who is currently being treated in intensive care, posted an Instagram photograph of himself in a hospital bed on Tuesday afternoon. “Thank you all for your kind words,” the caption read. “Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.”

The 51-year-old actor was using his snow plough at his house outside Reno, Nevada, when he was critically injured and taken to the hospital on Sunday. One of Renner’s neighbours, a doctor, reportedly applied a tourniquet on his bleeding leg until paramedics came, and he later underwent surgery for traumatic chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries.

At a press conference on Tuesday, the sheriff of Washoe County, Darin Balaam, stated that his department’s investigation revealed that Renner was injured by the plough while attempting to remove his family member’s car from snow near his home.

“Mr Renner went to retrieve his PistenBully or Sno-Cat – an extremely large piece of snow removal equipment weighing at least 14,330 pounds [6,500kg] — in an effort to get his vehicle moving,” Balaam said.

“After successfully towing his vehicle from its stuck location, Mr Renner got out of his PistenBully to speak to his family member. At this point, it was observed that the PistenBully started to roll.

“In an effort to stop the rolling PistenBully, Mr Renner attempts to get in the driver’s seat of the PistenBully. Based on our investigation, it is at this point that Mr Renner is run over by the PistenBully.”

The sheriff’s office was looking into a probable mechanical breakdown of the snow plough, Balaam said, calling the incident a “tragic accident.”

After Renner’s latest health update, several celebrities, including several of his former Marvel co-stars, sent their well wishes for him online.

Chris Evans, who plays Captain America, responded to the actor’s Instagram photo with the following: “Tough as nails. Love you buddy.”

Chris Pratt, star of the Guardians of the Galaxy films, said that he would be “continued prayers your way brutha,” while WandaVision actor Paul Bettany added: “Love you mate. Sending you love and healing.”

Talk show host Jimmy Fallon assured Renner that there was “lotsa love out there for you mate,” while Vanessa Hudgens, Heidi Klum, and Orlando Bloom also gave their best wishes.

Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor, said: “Speedy recovery buddy. Sending love your way!” while Taika Waititi, who has directed two Thor films, said simply: “My brother I love you.”

In terms of his professional life, Jeremy Renner is best known for his role as Hawkeye in Marvel Cinematic Universe. His role as Hawkeye in the MCU films, beginning with Thor (2011) and The Avengers, has brought him widespread fame (2012). He has also appeared in a number of films, including The Hurt Locker (2008) and The Town (2010) which brought him oscar nominations.
