New MCU Show ‘Vision Quest’ To Be Developed By Wanda Vision’s Head Writer

Vision Quest, a new Marvel Studios series focusing on Paul Bettany's Vision, is being developed by Marvel Studios for Disney+.

According to Deadline, Marvel Studios is developing a second WandaVision spinoff series entitled Vision Quest for Disney+ focusing on Paul Bettany’s Vision.

Sources tell Deadline that the potential series is to open a writers’ room as soon as next week and is about The Vision (Bettany) trying to regain his memory and humanity. Although the focus will be on Vision, there has been speculation that Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) may appear, which would make perfect sense given the interconnectedness of their stories within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, told Deadline.

Jacqueline Schaeffer, the creator, writer, and executive producer of WandaVision, will supervise Vision Quest, as she is managing the Agatha: House of Harkness spin-off series starring Kathryn Hahn.

Unofficially, the show ‘Vision Quest’ has been referred to as White Vision since the character’s first appearance on screen. Introduced at the end of Episode 8 of WandaVision, White Vision was created by S.W.O.R.D. by re-constructing and activating Vision’s body and sent on a mission to destroy Wanda and “Hex.” He was last seen in the Wanda-Vision finale when after a philosophical conversation between the white one (Original) and Hex-vision, White Vision declared, “I Am Vision,” and flew up into the sky, never to be seen again for almost two years.

During the Deadline Contenders TV: The Nominees 2021 panel discussion, he commented, “It was a beautiful culmination of everything Lizzie and I have done together.” This was a very different tone from the previous films. Nevertheless, you never know with Marvel whether you will be done, so I do not want to call the show over yet. This has been the most creative experience in my life, joyful and liberating. To see it embraced by an audience the way it was, was so wonderful.”

As soon as the news broke that Paul Bettany’s Vision was going to star in his own Disney+ series, Vision Quest, WandaVision star Julian Hilliard took to Twitter to express his delight.

He posted an article discussing the news that included the caption “Dad/Toaster Paul Bettany, I miss you” along with a glasses-adorned emoji.

The development of Vision Quest is reportedly set to begin within the next week.
