As the film “RRR” continues to penetrate Western markets, Indian filmmaker SS Rajamouli has won the New York Film Critics Circle’s best director award. The New York Film Critics Circle (NYFCC) announced the winners on social media on Friday night.
In the category of best director, Steven Spielberg, Sarah Polley, Darron Aronofsky, S.S. Rajamouli, and others were nominated by the New York Film Critics Circle, out of whom SS Rajamouli takes home the prestigious New York Film Critics Circle Award.
New York Film Critics Circle announced the winners of the other categories, including Todd Field’s Tar, winning Best Picture, and Cate Blanchett taking Best Actress.
Colin Farrell won Best Actor for his performances in Kogonada’s After Yang and Martin McDonagh’s The Banshees of Inisherin. The Best Supporting Actor award went to Ke Huy Quan for Everything Everywhere All At Once, and the Best Supporting Actress award went to Keke Palmer for Nope.
