In a new WABetaInfo report, WhatsApp lets its users to make updates to messages they have already sent. The ‘edit message’ feature will allow users to change their messages within a specific time frame.
WABetaInfo says WhatsApp will add a tag that says “edited” to messages so the receiver knows about the changes. However, if the receiver does not check the message within a certain time, it may not appear with the edited label. Though, there’s no way a user can check past versions of messages.

According to WAbetaInfo, WhatsApp will allow users to edit messages after sending them for about 15 minutes. However, there are no confirmations that the messages will be edited on the recipient’s end in case their device is offline for a prolonged period of time.
Currently, the feature is still under development.
