A Movie Adaptation of Johnny Deep & Amber Trial

In a report by Variety, the free streaming service 'Tubi' is planning to release a film based on the recent trial of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.

The film is titled ‘Hot Take: The Depp/Heard Trial’ and directed by Sara Lohman (who has directed several made-for-TV movies, including The Reunion and Secrets in the Woods).

It is written by Guy Nicolucci of The Daily Show and stars Mark Hapka as Depp, Megan Davis as Heard, Melissa Marty as Depp's lawyer Camille Vasquez, and Mary Carrig as Heard's attorney Elaine Bredehoft.

The film will also be available to watch on September 30.  Tubi's chief content officer explained that the film was quickly developed "to capture a timely take on a story that became part of the cultural zeitgeist, painting a unique picture of what millions watched play out in the headlines over the summer."
