Is Johnny Depp Returning to ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ ?

A rumor has it that Depp will return as the booze-fueled captain Jack Sparrow, with the actor scheduled for a test shoot in February, according to The Sun. Insiders told the outlet that the current working title of the project is "A Day At Sea."

The Sun reports that "Johnny is set to return as Captain Jack Sparrow and is scheduled to start filming at the beginning of February at a top-secret location in the UK,” the source says, adding that the project is in the early stages and even lacks a director at the helm.

There's a lot of secrecy surrounding the project, and Disney wants to keep things under wraps as much as they can," a source said, claiming Bruce Hendricks will lead the production.

Nevertheless, the newly released report indicates the franchise may be on hold only for the time being. Attempts to reach Disney for comment were not successful.

In this year's bombshell trial, Depp's legal team asked whether Depp would work with the corporation 'Disney' once more. “If Disney came to you with $300 million dollars and a million alpacas, nothing on this Earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ film?” her lawyers asked.

“That is true,” said Depp at the time, making reports about a potential return as Jack Sparrow seem unlikely.
