‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ Trailer Polarizes Forrest Gump Fans

We all know that Laal Singh Chaddha is an official remake of the Hollywood classic: Forrest Gump (1994).

Having seen the trailer now, the audience is split about the film, with half of them criticizing Aamir Khan, and the other half appreciating his spot-on likeness to Forrest Gump.

Interesting fact:

Laal Singh Chaddha has been under development since 2015.

Following ( Forrest Gump Director) Robert Zemecki's refusal to meet Aamir Khan, the actor left for Germany to meet Steven Spielberg, who was shooting the film Bridge Of Spies (2015).

A short backstory:

Aamir Khan visited the Bridge Of Spies set and met Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. Spielberg introduced Aamir to Tom Hanks as the 'James Cameron of India'. However, Tom Hanks has made it clear that he knows Aamir well. He also admitted to having watched 3 Idiots, Aamir's 2009 film, three times!

A short backstory:

He then discussed his issue with Zemeckis with Steven Spielberg. Spielberg told Aamir that his relationship with Zemeckis was like that of a father and son. Aamir was also informed by Steven that Robert Zemeckis was refusing to meet the superstar because he didn't want to have to say 'no' to Aamir face-to-face.

Eventually, after persistence, Aamir Khan managed to get the remake rights, which is now being remade as Laal Singh Chaddha.

Regardless, as someone who loves "Forrest Gump," I feel that Aamir Khan is the only actor who can emulate Tom Hanks and that he's already shown his brilliance in the trailer. Furthermore, every single aspect in the trailer was excellent, from its choice of cast to its cinematography, and its music.

I also believe "Laal Singh Chaddha" has the potential to be one of the best Indian films ever made if all things fall into place as they should.

Still haven't seen the trailer?
