Sony Is Set to Introduce Spider-Man TV Universe on Amazon Prime

Deadline has confirmed that a Spider-Man TV series titled Silk: Spider Society, which has been in development for several years, is finally finding a home on Amazon. Screen Rant has confirmed that there are plans for a major Spider-Man TV universe on Prime Video featuring a number of characters.

The showrunner will be Angela Kang from The Walking Dead.

She shared her excitement about working on Silk: Spider Society:

“I’m beyond thrilled to be joining the Amazon Studios family for this next chapter of my career. I look forward to working with the executive team on diverse, character-forward, watercooler shows for a global audience and am so excited to dive in to my first challenge – bringing Korean-American superhero Silk to life on screen."

It is based on characters developed by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos and is inspired by Marvel comics. The story follows Cindy Moon, a Korean-American woman who was bitten by the same spider that bit Peter Parker, as she escapes imprisonment and searches for her missing family in order to become Silk, a superhero.
