Tom Cruise Is Set To Make His Next Film In Space

The actor Tom Cruise, known for pulling off high-octane stunts in his films, will become the first actor ever to shoot in space.

Originally, Tom Cruise's involvement in such a movie with Elon Musk's SpaceX and NASA involved was first discussed in 2020 before the Covid-19 pandemic halted things.

Edge of Tomorrow director  Doug Liman, who is set to direct the film, said last year that shooting Locked Down in a deserted London during the pandemic gave him more confidence about making a space movie.

According to NY Post, Cruise and director approached Universal Filmed Entertainment Group (UFEG) with an idea that would involve Tom taking a rocket to the International Space Station.

UFEG Chairman Donna Langley said most of the film will take place on earth, culminating in "the character going up to space to save the day." The NY Post reports.
