Will Avatar 2 Redefine Modern Blockbuster ?

The brand-new trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water provides an even better look into Pandora’s fantasy world and the stunning visuals you’ve come to expect from Avatar.

Disney unveiled a plot synopsis: Avatar: The Way of Water takes place more than a decade after the first film, telling the story of a family of Sully (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows, the lengths they go to protect one another, the battles they fight for survival, and the tragedies they endure.

As the first film in the franchise, released in 2009, Avatar set the standards for motion capture cinema and global visuals, which remain relevant to this day. However, as far as the storytelling is concerned, it is pretty much generic, and doesn’t even try to be unique in its narrative, which may be part of the reason it is being hated online, and that the first film has been tagged as “Overrated”.

Nevertheless, we’re talking about James Cameron here, the blockbuster cinema legend, who set the standard with movies like Aliens (1986), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), Titanic (1997), and Avatar (2009), whose box office records remain unbroken to this day.
